It is possible that the words of the 19th C naturalist John Muir have never been so pertinent as they are today. He undoubtably viewed the natural world from within nature saying, ‘Most people are on the world not in it: From our position within a global, yet increasingly disparate culture, perhaps it is timely to ask where we place ourselves in relation to the nature of our surrounding environments?
